Entering K4 or Kindergarten
We require all students entering K4 or Kindergarten to be potty-trained and be able to speak English well enough to communicate their needs to their teachers. Students entering K4 must be four years old by October 31 of that year. Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old by October 31 of that year. Some special exceptions can be made after meeting with the elementary supervisor.
Entering First Grade
We require all first-graders to have a physical examination from a medical doctor before the school year.
In accordance with the California School Immunization Law, we require every student be up-to-date with their immunizations. These will be especially important when registering for Preppy K, Kindergarten, or 7th grade.
For more info on immunizations, click here.
All new first- through eighth-graders are required to take an entrance test. This test has a testing fee of $20 (cash) that is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Testing is also available for students who do not meet the age requirement for K4 and Kindergarten. The elementary supervisor will determine the child's readiness for K4 or Kindergarten. This test would also be $20 (cash).
