The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten 5 programs of Bethel Baptist School are designed to provide a warm, welcoming environment in which students take their first steps toward education and socialization. Our skilled, caring teachers help students absorb the fundamental principles of the English language, mathematics, and the Bible. Language instruction consists primarily of phonics to develop word recognition, spelling, writing, vocabulary, and reading proficiency. The mathematics program focuses on number recognition, counting, telling time, and simple addition and subtraction. While biblical truth is an essential ingredient of all studies, we also devote time to the study of scripture in and of itself. During this time, students sing hymns and choruses, listen to Bible stories, and memorize Bible verses. In all areas of study, students are given opportunity to express themselves and develop fine motor skills.
