Lady Warriors dominate Patriots
By j.hernandez • Feb 18th, 2009 • Category: SportsOn Feb. 6, 2009, the Lady Warriors basketball team played against the Patriots at Mile Square Park. The Warriors were victorious with the score of 59 to 19.
As the first quarter began, the Warriors slowly made their way to victory by scoring six points while the Patriots had scored nothing. The second quarter went by quickly. The opposing team had made several points, yet the determined Warriors were not easily put down.
At the third quarter, Hannah Berg made three continuous shots. After she saw that her throws had made it into the basket, tears streamed down her face. Warrior fans went “wild” at the end of the fourth quarter when the Warriors came out as the victors.
Coach Joe Roussell said, “It was a happy and sad game. It was a sad game because we lost four girls. The happy part was that we got four girls added to the team and they did a good job during the game.”
Despite the loss of their fellow players, the Lady Warriors are determined to dominate their next opponents for the last remaining games.
