After watching the inauguration of President Obama on Jan. 20, Bethel’s high school students shared their opinions.

QUESTION: What are your impressions of the new president, and what are your expectations for the future?

*Hannah Berg, 11th grade : “I feel that he is going to be a great leader because he seems to be well educated. He has potential. He is going to help our country.”

*Chris Anderson, 12th grade: “He sounds like a good person. But I don’t think he is going to put through what he says.

*Tracy Loi 11th grade: “He is different. We need change and action to take place. He might be the person that could do it.”

*David Jenkins 12th grade: “He is a good public speaker. But I don’t think he is going to make a difference in what I believe.  People are more focused on the public image of the president rather than his qualities and beliefs.”

*Anthony Valenzuela 11th grade: “I personally do not care for the president, but he has promised a lot. I hope he can live up to his word.  I expect a lot from him because he has promised a lot.”
